Match Play Championship RulesFor 2024, the opening round of the Matchplay Championships is a Qualifying Round that will be run in the format of the day. Each 'Registered' competitor will post an individual score for that day and only the Top 8 'Registered' qualifiers will move into the Quarter Finals.
All players that wish to compete in the Matchplay Championships are required to register prior to the start of the Qualifying Round (5th October 2024). Registration can be completed via the online form (preferred) or at the Proshop. Link to the online form is available above. Players must be fully paid financial members of the Growling Frog Golf Club Inc. and will need to confirm availability for all rounds of the championships (Key Dates listed above).
Matches will be played as knockout Singles Matchplay with a player's handicap to be calculated on their current 'Daily Handicap'.
In the event of a halved match in any round, the last stipulated round is deemed to extend to as many holes as are required for a match to be won. No handicap applies on the extended holes and will be based on the lowest actual stroke shots on the hole.
Players are required to commit to playing all rounds to avoid forfeited matches. Please note, players competing in this competition cannot play in the competition of that day, as the Rules of Golf do not allow combining the two forms of golf (see Rule 33-1).
